OVERVIEW

Kevad Bio is dedicated towards the discovery and development of novel medicines for the treatment of diseases of nerves.

Born out of the collaborative efforts of Argobio Studio, we are building a pipeline of neurotrophic small molecules to treat brain, spinal cord, intestinal and ophthalmic neurological disorders. Our platform has broad applications that span both rare and prevalent diseases. The primary indication is Parkinson’s disease.

Our platform is rooted on extensive research on neurotrophic factors from our partner Professor Mart Saarma at University of Helsinki. Neurotrophic factors, a family of intricate natural polypeptides, play a pivotal role in supporting the growth, survival, and differentiation of both developing and mature neurons.

The name "Kevad" holds profound significance for us, reflecting our commitment to renewal and the aspiration for a better life. Derived from the Estonian word for spring, it symbolizes the concepts of  renewal (e.g., neuronal regeneration) and the restart of activities (e.g., patients retrieving the ability to move smoothly) as the GDNF mimetics concept was originally created Prof. Saarma, an Estonia scientist.
